Transducer Protector is a highly specialized medical filter device that finds its application in the field of hemodialysis treatment. Our company produces Transducer Protectors, which comprises a 0.22 μm hydrophobic PTFE membrane and an exceptionally high-quality ABS housing. The primary purpose of this TP filter is to ensure that the blood side of the circuit remains separate from the machine side, thereby preventing any potential contamination of the machine due to the blood flowing through the circuit. The Transducer Protector operates by allowing air to pass through while strictly prohibiting the passage of blood. This unique feature ensures reliable protection for both the patient undergoing hemodialysis and the dialysis machine itself. By maintaining a strict separation between the two sides of the circuit, we can effectively prevent any cross-contamination that might occur during the process of hemodialysis.

Transducer protectors are single-use, they should be replaced if the membrane filter becomes wet, as the pressure reading may be affected, so it is essential to mount a new transducer protector to the monitoring line if this procedure has to be used. If wetting of the filter occurs after the patient has been connected, the line should be inpspected carefully by a qualified technician to see if any blood has passed through the filter. If any fluid is visible on the machine side, the machine should be taken out of service at the end of the session so that the internal filter can be changed and the housing disinfected.
