It has ABS shell housing one or double-layer PES membrane filter that retains undissolved drug particles, precipitates, bacteria, endotoxins, fragments of glass, plastic, or rubber; and large lipids in the intravenous drug solutions, as well as vented filter membrane of PTFE to eliminate air in the infusion lines.
